RACHAEL BECK Fantine

BIOGRAPHY:

Rachael Beck is one of Australia's leading actors. She has had wide experience in musical theatre and television.
Most recently Rachael created the role of 'Belle' in the Australian production of Beauty and the Beast premiering at the Princess Theatre. Prior to that Rachael spent two years performing Sally in the very successful Adelaide Festival Centre Trust production of Me and My Girl which toured Australia and New Zealand. Other stage credits include the role of Rumpleteaser in Cats with Cameron Mackintosh, Fredrika in A Little Night Music and Lady Mortimer in Henry IV both for the Sydney Theatre Company.
In 1992, Rachael performed the role of Judy Garland in her own one-woman show, Young Judy written by John Beck.
Rachael's television credits include Mercury, The Feds, This Man This Woman, GP., Flying Doctors and Hey Dad, in which she appeared as Sam for two years. She also appeared in the film Ocean Boulevard.
In 1996 Rachael received an ARIA Award for Best Australian Soundtrack/Cast/Showrelease for the Beauty and the Beast Cast Recording.

RECENT PROJECTS:

Since leaving Les Mis, Rachael appeared as Naomi in the original Sydney Theatre Company production of Secret Bridesmaids Business, Maria in the Adelaide and Perth seasons of The Sound of Music and can be currently seen as Kathy Seldon in Singin in the Rain.
