BIOGRAPHY:

Benjamin made his professional debut at 12 playing Kurt in The Sound of Music. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of New South Wales and studied voice under scholarship at the Conservatorium of Sydney. He has studied dance at Dynamite Dance Studios, Bodenweiser Dance Centre and Sydney Dance Company. Benjamin spent a year performing with Darc Swan Dance Company, and has performed for many choreographers including Sue-Ellen Chester, Norman Hall and William Forsythe. In children's theatre he has toured nationally playing B2 in Bananas In Pyjamas - Live on Stage and Lonely in Lift Off Live, for which he was also Dance Captain and Assistant Director. For the grown-ups Benjamin has played roles in Grease, Little Shop of Horrors and Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Benjamin has travelled to Chiang Mai, Thailand to play Doody in Grease, and was the recipient of Australia Council funding for a movement theatre piece called Awakenings. He writes and records music under the name Angelmess, but his most recent achievement was passing his Associate Level singing examination.
