JOLYON JAMES Jean Prouvaire, Ensemble Enjolras understudy

BIOGRAPHY:

Born in the West Australian wheat belt and raised in Perth's foothills, Jolyon James has worked professionally as an actor, singer, artist/set designer and teacher for the last 10 years. After graduating from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Education majoring in Visual Arts (sculpture) and Theatre, he attended the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) to study acting. Whilst at WAAPA his productions included A Midsummer Night's Dream, Away, The White Devil, Nana, The Cherry Orchard, Mad Forest and numerous self- devised projects. Since completing his training at WAAPA, Jolyon has enjoyed work in both theatre and in film and television, including guest roles in Water Rats, Blue Heelers and the tele-movie Never Tell Me Never. More recently Jolyon has performed with the Melbourne Theatre Company for a number of productions, in their 1997/98 season. These included Steven Sondheim's Into the Woods, A Little Nigbt Music (Sydney season) and George Bemard Shaw's Misalliance.

Jolyon is currently appearing as Sky in the Australian production of Mamma Mia!
