BIOGRAPHY:
Ana Marina is thrilled to join the cast of Les Miserables
in her first principal role, Cosette, after finishing two-and-a-half
years touring with The Phantom of the Opera. Ana Marina
has been involved in music and performance for 14 years. She
graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music with
a Diploma of Music (Voice) in 1995. She then joined The
Phantom of the Opera playing the understudy for the lead
female role, Christine, which she performed on more than 40
occasions, as well as playing a full-time ensemble role. The
show toured to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth
and Auckland, New Zealand. Ana Marina has an extensive repertoire
including music theatre, light jazz, folksong and classical.
Her versatility allowed her to represent Queensland in the
Music Theatre section of ABC-TV's Quest - The Perey Grainger
Award in 1995, performing as a concert soloist with the Queensland
Pops Orchestra at the 1996 Brisbane Festival, in the concert
version of Chess at Southbank Piazza, Brisbane, and in the
Queensland Rock Awards. She was the featured singer for the
1996 Weddings Expo held at the Brisbane Convention Centre
and performed in numerous operas with the Queensland Conservatorium
of Music including Il Tabarm in which she played 'The
Lover'. She also enjoys composing music and intends to record
her music in the future.
RECENT PROJECTS:
Ana travelled to London and was cast in the ensemble and
as a Christine understudy in the London production of The
Phantom of the Opera.
