PETER MURPHY

BIOGRAPHY:
Peter began performing professionally at the age of ten on
Channel Nine's Westfield Young Entertainers, having trained
as a singer and dancer. He has since explored the realms of
musical theatre, radio, popular music, dramatic theatre, and
opera. His musical credits include Nine The Musical,
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Tosca
with Opera Queensland, and The Magic Flute with The
Australian Opera. He was a member of the Expo '88 Dance Company,
and has recently found success as a stand-up comedian, supporting
many of Australia's top comics.
RECENT PROJECTS:
Peter left Les Mis during the Melbourne season to
join the original Australian company of Rent as a swing
and understudy for the two lead roles, Roger and Mark. After
leaving Rent, Peter originated the role of Nick Piazza
in the original Australian company of Fame. More recently
Peter appeared as the alternate Johnny O'Keefe in the original
company of Shout.
